I wish I never said never
Every time I’ve told my parents
My friends
My self…
I always find myself doing the very thing I told everyone I’d never do
Skimming the surface of failure was never expected from me
The smart one
Dream big, think bigger
Get good grades, find happiness through success
But nothing about my personal successes
Always about theirs
Now I don’t want to confuse one for saying my actions were wise
And I should’ve never abused blessings brought right in front of me
But if I had a chance to reduce
And redo to change my cries
Well I’d have to refuse
Because from that, I will learn to be the best
