What We Do for Schools, Colleges and Universities, Community Partners:
WORKSHOP – One hour-long workshop with a member of YCA’s Teaching Artist Corps. Students can expect a process of creative self-discovery and identity-building, rooted in the Young Chicago Authors’ pedagogy and the poetics of the everyday.
RESIDENCY – A fully immersive residency with one or multiple YCA Teaching Artist/s that can last anywhere from one full day of classes to a longer term residency and can be designed to meet the needs of your school or classroom.
ASSEMBLY – A one-hour all-school assembly that energizes and ignites students around the principles and practices of Rooted & Radical, YCA’s acclaimed youth poetry festival. Assemblies feature one dynamic host, a DJ, and two to three performances from past participants in the festival.
